Q & A

If you have any burning questions you would like us to answer about community heat networks feel free to email us: heatupperheyford@gmail.com
SOME OF OUR QUESTIONS
What will the total cost of the works be? We won't know until after the feasibility study but would look to get government funding to cover the costs of the project.
How soon we could get the works done?
We are very much tied to funding cycles and available grants. We are keen to proceed quickly, but it is likely to be a few years in the making...
Could solar power work together with the heat source to reduce household bills and increase sustainability?
Yes we are keen to investigate this possibility
Whether there is a mains gas alternative? Various villagers have investigaed the possibility of converting oil to gas or to ASHPs. The cost per household would be between £7000 for a small ashp and between £11,000- £51,000 for mains gas.
Mike Barker noted the Swaffham scheme is installing fibre for high-speed broadband alongside the works to install the heat network! All things we will put forward to be considered in the feasibility study if our initial grant application is sucessful.
